Spondylitis Association of America
The Spondylitis Association of America was the first organization I was in contact with after finally receiving my diagnosis back in 2003. Finding them at that time of my life was a blessing & a gift. I found the staff welcoming, concerned, and knowledgeable. After I found out there wasn’t a support group in my area, I worked with them to initially set up a local SAA support group in Denver. Years later when I wanted to become more involved in advocacy & fundraising they were a helpful guide in the process. I feel strongly that the dollars I’ve helped raise for them are dollars well placed – they are a 4 star charity on Charity Navigator!
SAA has championed the cause of advancing ankylosing spondylitis research, they provide very important emotional connections between their constituents with their support groups, the programs & services they provide our community are first rate, and they champion the stories on Faces of AS so many of us have shared by embracing that community project on their website.
I hope you will join us in supporting SAA in your fundraising efforts during Walk Your A.S. Off™ and for many years to come!
