Walk Club – Check In For Sept 9 – Sept 15

Hi Walkers!
We’re off to a great start with our walk club! We have a number of people who have expressed interest in guest posts and feature blogging. We have over forty members registered so far and hopefully we’ll have more join in as we get things going. We are also working on a redesign of our site that will make it easier to find just the information you’re looking for and read up on many related topics like gear reviews, healthy eating, motivation madness (I know I need that for sure), and a number of other things in the works!
For today’s check in:

  1. Please post a comment and let us know how your first week went. Share what you’d like no requirements of stating your step count but we’d love to hear if you’d like to share.
  2. Consider signing up with our comment system Disqus. (NPR announced today they will be using Disqus so you know it is a reputable and safe social media resource.) When you get a Disqus profile you can use it for many sites not just ours. It also puts a face to your name.
  3. I’d like to have us take on motivation partners. It can be someone you know or state in your comment if you are looking for a partner. (I’m looking for one ) I’ve had a bit of a slow start myself this week and could use someone to hold my feet to the pavement!

We’ll be doing check in posts here on Monday nights. We moved this first check in out a few days since we just started.  Hope that works for everyone. You’ll receive an email reminder as well!

    I had a difficult start. I’m very glad that people asked for us to have an ongoing walk club because I really need the motivation but when flares happen and life gets busy I have a very difficult time getting myself out the door. Any suggestions? Also I’m looking for a motivation partner if anyone is interested. 🙂 Hope you all had a great week!

    I walked 49,476 steps last week. Was really hoping for more but a minor medical procedure slowed me down. I find that I always feel better when I walk more. Have a great weekend everyone!

    just started today and its wa at 4200 ft, after 500 feet I could really feel it, but by 2/3rds of the way I was walking like a penguin and barely made it the last few feet where I greet my stairs, weeee hoooo, I did it. but boy am I paying for it now lol.
